Television Service

Privatel has been providing the latest in cutting edge technology from the leader in satellite television, DirecTV, since 1998.

Students can view local area television networks like FOX and NBC, traditional cable networks ranging from ESPN to CNN to Disney Channel to Bravo.

Colleges and Universities can add premium content like:

• Regional Sports Networks: YES Network, NBC Sports, Bally Sports.
• Premium Sports Networks: NFL Network, SEC Network, Golf Channel.
• International Channels from Mexico, South America, Vietnam, and Korea
• Premium Movie Channels: HBO, Showtime, MGM+, Cinemax & Starz

Privatel provides three different options for satellite television service for colleges and universities.

Campus Wide: Privatel can provide satellite television to all dorm rooms, common areas, academic, athletic, administrative, and non-residential locations.

Commercial: Privatel can provide programming to common areas, academic, athletic, administrative, and non-residential locations only (e.g., bars, restaurants, student center, police stations, health centers, etc.).

Hybrid: Privatel can provide the campus-wide to dorms and other locations while providing commercial programming to larger public spaces (stadiums, arenas, gyms) or privately run on-campus establishments (restaurants, bars, stores).

Streaming Services

Privatel designs, installs, and maintains state-of-the-art, fully turnkey IPTV streaming services at colleges and universities across the country.

This streaming service leverages an existing data network to deliver the service to resident students in HD content.  Programming is fed via satellite resulting in no impact on outside public bandwidth as the programming originates on campus.

Since the system is utilizing the existing data network, it is a secure connection for residents to use.

Programming is distributed in a wireless-friendly adaptive bitrate format. The LAN-based broadcast uses onsite equipment and eliminates the costly internet bandwidth required by most over the top services.

The service will be available in all buildings that are on the University Data Network – this includes all the residence halls, lounges, common areas and all other buildings that are on the University Data Network.

Privatel’s IPTV service can be streamed on the following devices.

Privatel’s IPTV service is viewed either via a web browser or through an easy-to-access, downloadable app.

The  IPTV streaming content Privatel is delivering provides for the following:

Internet Services

Privatel provide wired, wireless or a wired and wireless internet connections to colleges and universities property. Privatel brings in a dedicated internet circuit to the property to provide the ideal speed for resident students.

All internet connections are firewall and password protected allowing for a safe, secure online experience for residents.

One of the key components of Privatel’s solution is that we dynamically assign each student and their personal devices via a private VLAN; each of their devices will be assigned to the same VLAN.

This unique system design allows for greater security and a more home like Wi-Fi experience.

The private VLAN allows students to do things such as use their wireless printers and devices such as Alexa.

Privatel has three methods of providing the internet…

Cable Modems:

Privatel will provide a state-of-the-art modem complete with multiple Ethernet ports to allow for desktop computers, video game consoles and other devices to be connected via an ethernet cable.

The cable modem comes with a built-in wireless router which allows for blanket coverage of the entire apartment/home the modem would be installed in.

Each modem is uniquely password protected to  provide safe and secure connections to residents of a dorm.

Access Points (Hallway Deployment):

Privatel can install Wireless Access Points (WAPs) into the hallway. Residents would access this internet with a secure and unique username and password.

Access Points (In-Room Deployment):

Privatel will provide state-of-the-art Access Points (APs). These APs come with multiple Ethernet ports to allow for desktop computers, video game consoles and other devices to be connected via an ethernet cable.

APs allows for blanket coverage of the entire apartment/dorm room they would be installed in.

Each modem is uniquely password protected to  provide safe and secure connections to residents of a dorm.
